Taking out the Minolta 7000 for a walk

I love shooting the city with film on rainy days. Rain brings out something in black and white film images that I find hard to describe. Having to use an umbrella, I needed something I could operate with one hand. The Minolta 7000 is the the camera for the job since it is a fully automatic SLR. One of the last of the breed before digital kicked in. I loaded the camera with a roll of Ilford Delta 400 and went to town. I used aperture priority mode with Auto Focus.

It was funny that I still had the reflex to look at the back of the camera after each shot. Out of 38 shots, 36 came out good and I'm happy with at least half of them. This was my first street sortie in a while so not being back in the groove yet, I used a Sigma 70-200mm lens for the outing. The camera performed like a champ. Not bad for a $25 full frame camera!

This guy usually puts a "no photos" sign next to his booth. He ran indoors but it was too late.

Canon G12 swan song

On October 22nd while on a photowalk, my canon G12 decided to start doing funky stuff with its sensor. I guess being dumped in a snow filled bag wasn't a good idea and oxydation caught up to it. Here are some shots of the last photowalk with this camera that has now been replaced by a Fuji X10.

Thanks for watching

Montreal in the rain.

Cold weather means more time going over what was shot during the Summer months. Here we have a few shots from a rainy evening walk back in June in downtown Montreal.

 Thanks for watching.

Shooting the Plateau drunk.

On my way to the metro after an awesome party dressed like the Joker, I decided to take some shots while making my way home. Getting drunk and taking pictures was not something I planned, I rarely drink to excess,  but I was curious to see what kind of result I would get. What you have here are the 5 best shots. Take note that the post edit was also done while my mind was in a fog.  :)
